A Tribute to My Mom!

My mother recently celebrated a milestone birthday and I meant to do this then... But with 4 kids and a dog (see post below!) and Christmas and a virus that lasted 2 weeks, I just didn't get to it.

A lot of people say they have the greatest mom, but I would have to argue that I have the best mom in the world! My mom is so very kind and thoughtful and always sympathetic to my ramblings. I remember, even as a child, that people would tell me how special my mom was and what a very sweet woman she was!

She always calls to check in on me and my family. She offers to help out, even when she is exhausted herself. She truly loves the Lord and serves others. She genuinely loves her family and would do anything for them (and for anyone else!)

My mom is probably the hardest worker that I know. She works without complaining. Even when she comes to visit us and I can tell she is tired, she still wants to help me!

Aside from having some great character qualities, she also has some other traits that make her great! Like cooking... the BEST cook in the world! Just try her lasagna (which I have often requested), fudge, ham dinner, apple-pie, stuffed peppers, and more! No one has ever left her home hungry! And she sews and decorates her home to make it welcoming. She also is known to invite many to her gatherings, not wanting anyone to feel left out.

So, mom, thank you for who you are and for ALL that you do for me and for so many others. I hope to be like you!!!! And you, more than anyone, can probably understand just why it took me so long to post this... :0)

I love you so very much!

A Week at Our House

A Week at Our House

For a Christmas surprise we get a new dog
Dog's name is Sammy
Sammy is not potty-trained
Mommy is going a bit crazy...

Sarah is eating my new Reader's Digest
Doggie is eating Sarah's toys
Mark is playing with doggie's food
Rachel keeps giving doggie a treat

Doggie is pooping on my new floor
Baby is spitting up on my new floor
Big kids are wrestling on that same floor... Ugh!
I need a new floor but wait this one is only 3 months old!

Wonderful Christmas tree is falling down
Broken bulbs, beaded garland flung all over
Baby crying, Mark throwing ornaments
Christmas tree still not re-decorated... :)

Calling in help, calling in help!!
Mia come help us!
Christmas tree has fallen down
And Mom is in tears!

Mom decides to go Christmas shopping
Daddy calls first time... "Baby is crying"
Second time... "Baby it STILL CRYING and won't take a bottle"
Third time... "Okay, mom is now leaving the store and on her way home."

School, school, must do school
Spelling, math facts, bird sounds, and gingerbread houses
The Nutcracker, dancing, painting ornaments, and state flowers
Learning to read and memorizing scripture

Three in diapers
Mark Charles
Sarah Alice
And now the Doggie!

Opening Christmas cards is a fun treat
I really should send some myself
First card I write, daughter draws all over
A picture of our new dog will be sent on this card

Going to a Homeschool Christmas Party
Mom starts to load up all 4 kiddos
Soon realizes that hubby took ALL the carseats out
Mom puts in carseats in all by herself and manages to not be too late

Mom and Dad going to the Baily Agency Christmas Party
Mark brings over a shoe and hat
Thinks that he is joining us
But this is Mom and Dad (and Sarah's) night out

It is 4 AM
Mom is nursing baby...again
Mom would rather be sleeping
But thanks the Lord for her sweet daughter

Mom is grateful for so many children and her husband
Bible says children are a blessing
Mom loves her 4 blessings
Just not sure about the dog...

Gingerbread House

I recently bought a gingerbread house kit at Giant Eagle and decided to make a gingerbread house. Now I am a smart woman. :) Not only did I buy the kit but I called in help. Hannah, one of my babysitters, spent the afternoon with us and helped put the house together. It was so much fun. Mark napped, Sarah was held by either Hannah or myself, and the kids had a blast decorating!!!

Sarah is now 4 months old!!!! We all enjoy her so very much. We thank the Lord for our 4
little blessings!

Poor Mark....

It is true... Mark has a sister who loves to play mommy! Rachel loves her horses, her dolls, her princess dresses and she loves to "mother" both Sarah and Mark. This morning while I was on the phone with my mom, Rachel and Mark came down the steps. Rachel smiling and Mark in a dress. :) I guess she gets it from her own mommy. I did this to my brother when I was little. Shh... don't tell!!!

Great-Grandparents Page!!

We have so many things to be thankful for! One being, great-grandparents!! We are so grateful to have so many people who love us, pray for us and are there for us. Thank you to all of our grandparents. Here are a few photos of some of the great-grandparents who live close-by. My grandfather Main and Grandma Price are not pictured. We love you every single one of you!
