I am now a blogger...

Well, I have joined the world of blogging! I decided to blog for several reasons. I want to document our homeschooling experiences. And I want to keep friends and family up-to-date on our happenings. So... here is my simple but hopefully enjoyable blog!

A disclaimer...I am not much of a writer. I don't love to write like some; I would much rather be reading or swimming or spending time with my family. BUT I have really enjoyed reading other blogs and am hopeful that you will enjoy ours as well!

Well, here is our family. Mike, Cari, Jonathan, Rachel, Mark and our newest little blessing-Sarah. We are starting our 3rd year of homeschooling. Jonathan is in 2nd grade, Rachel is preschool, Mark is learning how to make messes and more messes and Sarah is learning how to smile and coo.

We are in our fourth week of school. We have learned about the first explorers to America... the Vikings, Columbus, and of course, the Indians. This week we made wig-wams and tepees out of construction paper. We also read the book, "Squanto." We memorized the verse John 8:12 and continued with our math and reading.

On another note... what was supposed to be a pleasant walk gathering leaves yesterday turned into a trip to the ER. :( I tripped over the tire of our double stroller and landed on my hands and knees. Unfortunately Sarah was in the sling and hit the back of her head. I took her to the ER and thankfully, she was fine. We are thanking the Lord for protecting our sweet daughter.

That is enough for now. I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to leave a comment!!
